Full Time Position

Description:
Manage every aspect of the museum’s waterfront activities including rental of slip space, coordinating visiting ships, boat rentals, on water events such as the Philadelphia Cup Regatta and the Walnut 2 Walnut Challenge. Also includes developing new on water programming in conjunction with the Education department. These will include expedition programming as well as other rowing, sailing, and paddling programs. This position will require at least 5 years of experience with on water programming, as well as strong management skills. The Waterfront Director reports directly to the Vice President of Interpretation and Visitor Experience.

Requirements
• Experience with on water education
• Minimum of two years management experience
• Experience with all aspects of boat maintenance.
• Good boat handling skills in power and sail
• A CG license or certification from US Sailing, US Rowing or a Small Boat Certification and Life Saving Certification.
• Superior record keeping skills
• Strong computer skills, particularly Excel
• Good interpersonal communication
• Ability to represent the Museum to potential visitors
• Flexibility
• Patience and attention to detail

Responsibilities
• Assist with projects for Workshop on the Water
• Schedule and attend to visiting ships
• Coordinate dockside related programming and events
• Coordinate with Education Department annual Summer Camp on the water activities
• Observe and enforce proper safety standards
• Assist if needed with construction, restoration, maintenance, and repair of wooden boats
• Track all time and expenses for the Workshop on the Water Department
• Oversee Livery and Livery staff
• Oversee customer sales of Livery program
• Perform routine maintenance on boats and dock
• Perform other duties as assigned

Hours of Work
• Full time/40 hours per week plus benefits
• Weekend and evening hours required
