New home for Estrela

We are owners of the Atlantic Boatworks Schooner Estrela. Designed by George Stadel, she was built in 1975.

She is 44' LOD, 56' LOA, 14' beam, 6'4" draft and is heavily built with 2" mahogany planking and teak decks. She has made 14 trips to the Caribbean and participated for years in races in Gloucester, Provincetown and on the Vineyard.

In December 2014 we arranged to have her hauled for the winter to track down a leak, but the boatyard neglected to haul her the date she was delivered, and 8 days later we were told she partially sank on the end of the boatyard dock.

Estrela has been out of the water over a year and finally a suit is being filed. However we now need to find a home for her. She is a total constructive loss (insurance term for it would cost more to fix than she is worth). We just don't have the time, money or energy to get her back into shape.

The key proviso is whoever takes her has to get her out of the yard. If you know of anyone interested - please email Sandi Atwood

Thank you!
