A hearty thank you to all our participants, volunteers and sponsors

ASA members
On behalf of the Board of Directors for the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race I would like to thank all the ASA members and vessels who participated. What a amazing showing! October is officially schooner month on the Chesapeake. It doesn't get any better than that.

We'll have more to share after the Cambridge Schooner Rendevous this weekend (Oct 20-21),another don't miss activity on the Chesapeake. Contact Roger Worthington (Schooner Prom Queen) for details. The final event is the downrigging in Chestertown the first weekend in Nov.

If anyone has a story (gam in schooner lingo)or two to share please send to our race email address at race@schoonerrace.org or post on the ASA site. We're interested in collecting as much info as we can to document the events both landside and on the water since we always miss something wonderful.

Thanks to Al Bezanson for the good photos.. I'm sure more will be available soon.

Adding my thanks as well

Nan - let me add my thanks to all as well. I can't imagine the work that goes on behind the scenes. This was my first time at the race and we had a great time. Everyone involved was great! Can't wait for next years!

Schooner Quintessence

schooner race

I was on Quintessence with Paul Gray and the gang for the race and the sail back to Forked River. This was the first time for me as a race participant. I can't tell you how impressed I was with the outpouring of friendship and hospitality from everyone we met. Our liaisons Steve and Erica went over the top to make us feel welcome; and many thanks to Al of Green Dragon and his family for the provisions and good company. Can't wait to participate again.
