Elf update

Just to let interested parties know that the Classic Yacht Restoration Guild, chaired by our new member Rick Carrion, now has the 1888 Lawley cutter Elf at Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia. We expect to install her rig within the next week or so. If you are in the area please stop and see her. We hope to be heading down into Chesapeake Bay in early July. The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum's Apprentice program is currently constructing her tender for us. It should be ready in a few weeks.

Elf update

Just a followup on my note from June 9th. Elf now has her spars and rig. We await Nat Wilson's arrival to bend on her sails and John Brady, the Seaport's resident boatwright's, return from vacation to help us learn to sail this creature. If you are in the Philadelphia area within the next couple of weeks please feel free to visit.

Elf Under Sail

Elf is rigged and under way. On Wednesday she will be leaving the Sassafras River in Maryland for a visit to the Sailing Hall of Fame at Annapolis. She is really FAST! I hope that we will be able to be in Baltimore for the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race this year so y'all can get a look at her. Go to www.cyrg.org to check out the picture of her under sail in Philly.
