Schooner Winfield Lash

On last Friday, 8/14, Becky and I closed the deal with the Estate of David Clarke, and we are now the proud owners of the schooner Winfield Lash.  She has been hauled out and covered since last Fall in Rockland, ME, and we are in the process of commissioning her, hoping to get her sailing again and bring her down to her new homeport of Mystic, CT before it gets too late in the season.

You got a wonderful boat!

Congratulations on your new family member. She's a beautiful boat, and so comfortable as well. We've spent a bit of time on her (she was in our wedding and we sailed en company with her for our honeymoon). I wish you many years of joy with her.

Congratulations on your new to you schooner.  She is a beauty!   Will you be entering the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race?  This week is the deadline!

I had the pleasure to sail alongside her while crewing for Al on Green Dragon a bunch of years ago. Beautiful boat! I will update the Schooner Registry information! can't wait to see her on my next trip up to Mystic! Now there is no excuse for missing next year's Block Island Schooner Rendezvous!

A beautiful Schooner

I was in Mystic at the Seaport last weekend (17-18 Oct) for Frank Reed's course on Lunars and saw her - I think - from a distance looking up the river towards I95. A dark hull on a mooring, white topmast and the only sailboat in that direction beyond the museum.

On my lunch break on Sunday I thought I'd get a closer look and stopped at the Sea View Snack Bar [edit-rrp 10/28/15 - per my lunch receipt] with my camera (and binoculars) in hand but she was gone - bummer.

Congradulations!  A beautiful schooner. From one Atkin owner to another I wish you both all the best.
