Alden Schooner - Hispaniola, formerly malabar II

Howdy---Anyone know the history of the Hispaniola?  Looks to be an Alden, #162 built in 1922 by Morse.  But, that boat is listed as having a full keel and when I looked her over on the docks at Foggs Boatworks in Portland where she is getting a fine refit, she apeared to have all of the gear for a massive centerboard.  Curious...Mr. Stubbs

She is indeed a centerboarder.  About 23 years ago she was in Freeport, then up to Yankee Marine in Yarmouth, and then I lost track of her for a few years.  She has been in Portland for some time now, and has been well cared for.

Her design number is actually 353, built in 1928 by Frank Weeks of Patchogue LI NY.  Her dimensions are 37'4" X 30 X12 X 3'6.  Similar but smaller than the 309s.
